The International Competition for Abstract and Surrealist Photography
The competition
The competition jury selects 70 photographers from among those registered in the professional category and 70 photographers in the amateur category.
One or more works by the nominated photographers are exhibited from May to September 2026 in physical exhibitions throughout the city of Tours.
All selected photographs by the nominated photographers will also be exhibited in the 3D and Portfolio 2026 galleries on the ABSURIA website, the Tours Festival of Abstract and Surrealist Photography.
Each professional or amateur nominee will receive a document certifying their nomination.
The jury will select the winners of the ABSURIA 2026 Awards from among the nominated photographers.

Eight winners will be honoured in early May 2026 at the Awards Ceremony, which will take place at one of the prestigious venues in the city of Tours. Winners who are unable to attend will receive their awards by post.
Competition registration
Registration for the ABSURIA Competition will be available soon. To receive advance notice of when registration opens, send an email to concours@absuria.fr specifying whether you wish to register in the professional or amateur category.
While waiting for registration to open, you may have the chance to be featured in the temporary 3D gallery ‘Coups de Cœur’ on the ABSURIA website.
